TIP-TOP MEDIA FACADE with PARADISE CITY
The mixed reality (MR) specialist company Dotmill, renowned for showcasing outstanding technological capabilities at globally recognized events such as the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and inter-Korean summits, presented the largest high-end media facade show in South Korea on September 21 at Paradise City in Yeongjongdo, Incheon. Paradise City, known as the first integrated resort in Northeast Asia, hosted this event on the exterior walls of 'Wonderbox,' a family-oriented indoor theme park that was slated to open in the first half of 2019.
The media facade show, themed "Nostalgia," evoked a surreal atmosphere by filling the Art Garden with beautiful objects such as giants, whales, and the sea, representing fragments of memories. Dotmill utilized 16 projectors with 30,000 ANSI lumens of brightness to cover the entire 550-pyeong building façade for the approximately 40-minute performance. Additionally, an orchestra session participated in the show’s music, enhancing the experience for visitors to Paradise City.
Kim Han-seok, the planning team leader at Dotmill, who supervised the production of the high-end media facade show, stated, "Our goal was not merely to create a media façade but to transform the 'Wonderbox' building into a piece of art itself. We are thrilled with the resulting media art piece, which surpasses expectations, built on strong trust between the two companies."
Ahn Seung-hwan, the Fun City team leader at Paradise City, said, "Ahead of the opening of our second phase facilities—including a boutique hotel, spa, club, plaza, art exhibition spaces, and studios—we aimed to create a media facade show focused on enhancing our entertainment offerings. We hope this unique experience, crafted in collaboration with Dotmill, provided our guests with a novel and exciting visit to Paradise City."
The music for this media façade show was composed by Woody Pak, with Lee Jeong-Yeon serving as the mix engineer, adding further depth and quality to the overall production.
Additionally, on September 21, a 'Paradise City Festival' featuring top-tier artists such as Super Junior, Dok2, and YDG was held at Chroma Square within Paradise City, further elevating the event.
